about
Forever Until A Day draws influence from a wide variety of artists, such as Dance Gavin Dance, Silverstein, and While She Sleeps. The track is a duet between our vocalist Khoal Macmillan, and drummer Colin Langstraat. Each voice embodies a side of the conversation going through Colin's head after a period where he both had a long term relationship come to a close and suffered a near death experience that led to hospitalization and a type 1 diabetes diagnosis. One voice wallows in the pain, whilst the other urges him to grow and move on with his life.
lyrics
What is this all supposed to be
Why does it matter?
A common thread, frayed in the end
It makes no sense, I’m a hopeless wreck
Caught between your walls and the pavement
Consequence of my actions are getting blurry
Thinking about all of the “could have beens”
That one day you said that everything would be just fine
Is that another lie of your abandonment?
(Take, take me away)
Take me away from here
I’ll sleep alone tonight
(From all that I loved)
Take me away from all the things I’ve loved and lost
Pick up the pieces of this broken heart
You’ve left in your wake
Can’t hold on
I can say that I tried
I’m not the same as I used to be
Why don’t you just
Take the shot
Leave me open
Tear me down some more
You can’t leave much left to care
I’m broken
(I’m broken)
Don’t tease me any further
Put your knife in all the way
(I said I would always be there)
I tried a thousand times to be the voice that you needed
When everything we fought for
Came crumbling down
(I meant every word, yeah)
Before you said my words taste like
Poison not passion
I’m breathing them in
Spitting you out
CHORUS
I’m so much more than I used to be
Cut me off at the knees
Take the breath from my lungs
Though I loved you before
But I never thought about
All of the consequences
It’s been forever
Until one day we meet again
And I’ll right my wrongs
And bury you in your shame
I want to say
For you to stay
Would mean that you’re sorry
With everything
You’re bringing
Marks the end of our story
CHORUS
